BT Retail Week Technology Awards 2013
Technology touches almost every aspect of a retailer’s business. It’s embraced by retailers who realize the potential it has, from operational improvements to understanding customer behavior to optimizing inventory. That’s why Quantum Retail couldn’t be more excited to once again sponsor the BT Retail Week Technology Awards on June 19, 2013 at London’s Hilton Hotel, Park Lane.
With some of the biggest names in retail amongst the finalist, the panel of expert judges will find the task of selecting the ultimate winners very challenging. The nine judges include retail and technology experts Paul Coby, director of IT at John Lewis; Andy Harding, director of e-commerce at House of Fraser; and Sienne Veit, head of mobile at Morrisons.
It goes without saying that technology provides significant advancements for retailers especially within the supply chain. The Quantum Retail Supply Chain of Excellence Award will prove just that. Nominated for this year’s award are: Costco Wholesale, Debenhams, O2, O’Neill, Shop Direct Group and the Jacques Vert Group.
Well done and best of luck to all of those shortlisted.

Citi Research’s “52 Weeks of Retail Technology”
Quantum Retail Technology is pleased to announce that Greg Wilson, VP of field strategy at Quantum, will be presenting at Citi Research’s “52 Weeks of Retail Technology” conference call series hosted by Deborah Weinswig on May 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. CST.
Greg’s presentation will emphasize the importance of retailers knowing their goals as they are trying to achieve specific objectives and how that is especially true for effective inventory management and optimization. He will discuss how retailers can achieve consistent profitable revenue growth by understanding how best to move inventory to support selling while also understanding weaknesses inherent in demand forecasts. During his call, Greg will discuss the challenges of today’s retail environment including competition, omnichannel and showrooming. He will also highlight how the outdated technologies that are still prevalent in inventory fulfillment impede retailers from overcoming these challenges
Greg is constantly looking at how new technology can make retailers more effective. He has over 25 years of retail industry experience – 15 of those years spent as a retailer with half of that time in merchandising roles and the other half in designing, developing and implementing solutions in planning, allocation, replenishment and logistic spaces. Greg understands the operating environments and business challenges retailers face. He brings all of this and more to his critical role with Quantum in which he determines how Quantum’s solutions can improve a retailer’s processes and addresses challenges to ultimately make them more successful and profitable.
