Vice President of Science

Ziad oversees a combined R&D and consulting Science team; his team is responsible for both the design of new science functionality as well as the configuration of the science during a customer engagement. Having the team combined in this way allows them to effectively use customer feedback to advance our core science functionality.

Prior to Quantum, Ziad was a Managing Principal in the Analytical Services group at Oracle Retail. There, Ziad led a team responsible Emerging Applications – these were solutions that were newly developed and on the cutting edge of retail optimization. This group was responsible for Size and Pack Optimization, Regular Price and Promotions, Space Optimization, and various types of Store Clustering. Before Oracle Retail, Ziad was a Senior Scientist at ProfitLogic working on Planning, Assortment, and Markdown Optimization. Ziad received his PhD from MIT, where he was an NSF fellow in Economics with a focus in Econometrics.

Outside of Quantum, Ziad enjoys spending time with my family which includes 2 boys (ages 7 and 5) and 1 girl (age 3); avid film fan, especially of the classics – he has over 2000 DVDs in his collection (but has watched 0 in the last year); rarely has the opportunity, but takes Poker (Texas Hold ‘Em) very seriously when the chance arises.
